Likbärarlaget Enigheten - United Corps carrier team.
The organization was founded June 28, 1729 by the glove maker’s guild of the city of Malmo, Sweden, with the intention of providing an honorable and descent funeral for its members. Swedish wording is approx. United corpus carrier team. Less than two decades earlier, about two thirds of the citizens of Malmo city where wiped out by plague and other diseases leaving a huge need of healthy men that could carry the dead to the grave in a dignified manner.
This service is still available nowadays, though very seldom asked for, but there is still a pecuniary service provided by a sum of money paid to the family of the diseased to cover some of the funeral costs.

The operation is performed under supervision of Governmental Swedish Finansinspektionen (Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC) similar to what is required for financial services companies.
The governance is made up by a board consisting of a Master as chairman (Alderman), a Treasurer and a group of elected men in Court of Assistants and control is carried out by elected auditors. All minutes are kept from the organization’s initiation in 1729 until today and show that there are no interruptions, making it the oldest continuous active society in the city of Malmo and one of the oldest in Sweden.
There are two annual events where one is the Annual General Meeting that has been held uninterrupted on Shrove Monday since 1730. In addition to the AGM and dealing with any legal issues related to maintaining the operation, a dinner is served with exactly the same menu as in past centuries.
The second meeting is held on October 1st which was the day when the employees could claim their right to a candle lit working environment and the Master had to oblige.
This autumn meeting was initiated in the late 1900-houndreds in order to create and maintain a pleasant additional social community for the members.
The organization is for men only due to ancient bylaws.
Entry for membership is accepted by applicants between the ages of 18 and 60 years of age. Membership is valid for as long as the annual membership fee is paid.
